Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common questions about our rapid prototyping service.
What file formats do you accept?
We accept STEP (.stp/.step), STL (.stl), IGES (.igs/.iges), Parasolid (.x_t), and SolidWorks (.sldprt) files. If you have a different format, please contact us--we can usually accommodate it.
How accurate are 3D printed prototypes?
Our industrial FDM and SLA printers achieve ±0.2mm dimensional accuracy with layer thicknesses between 0.1-0.3mm. This is suitable for most fit-testing and functional validation purposes. For tighter tolerances, we recommend CNC machining.
Can you match the properties of injection-molded parts?
While 3D printed parts can closely approximate injection-molded properties, they may differ in strength, surface finish, and isotropy. We offer engineering-grade materials like Nylon, PEEK, and PC that come close. For production-identical samples, consider low-volume injection molding (soft tooling).
What's the maximum part size you can print?
Our largest build volume is 600mm × 600mm × 800mm. For larger assemblies, we can print in sections and provide assembly services. Contact us with your specific dimensions for feasibility assessment.
Do you offer post-processing services?
Yes! We offer sanding, vapor smoothing, painting, dyeing, electroplating, and assembly services. We can also install inserts, threads, and other hardware. Just specify your requirements when requesting a quote.
How do I transition from prototype to production?
Once your prototype is approved, our engineering team will prepare your design for injection molding tooling. We'll provide a DFM (Design for Manufacturing) report and production quote. With our low MOQ of 100 pieces, you can start production quickly without large upfront investment.
